Castles and Parish Churches along the Via del Volto Santo

A huge, cylindrical stone keep, overlooking a trading village, its bridges and its arcades. A Florentine and Tuscan enclave in Lunigiana, it defended the Apennine routes and passes.
Back then, it was a modern village, busy with people and trades, different languages and cultures which met along the way, along the Via Francigena and the Via del Volto Santo.
