The riverbed enriched by medieval vestiges linked to the Via Francigena
A natural enviroment to admire the great white egret
The two ANPILs along the Magra River in Lunigiana encompass well-preserved environments characterized by a shifting riverbed with many branches and small islands colonized by willow and alder groves.
Many species of migratory and nesting birds, such as bee-eaters and the pied kingfisher, and various species of wading birds, such as great white egret, live here.
Furthermore, the areas embrace important medieval vestiges linked to the Via Francigena.
The two ANPILs feature area equipped for visitors and facilitated access; examples are the play area at Bagni di Podenzana, the fishing lake at Terrarossa and the Filattiera nature trail.
